Azimuth Bombardier

azimuth's bombardier is inspired by the "Beobachtungsuhr" (observation clock) as used by the WWI/II-era Luftwaffe - commonly referred to as the "B-Uhr" for short. originally a pocket-watch, by the time WWII rolled around the B-Uhr had morphed into a large wrist-watch typically worn on the outside of a flight-suit. the B-Uhr was manufactured under contract for the Luftwaffe by several notable firms: Lange & Söhne, Glasshütte Uhren Betreib, International Watch Company, Wempe, Laco, and Stowa. while the modern bombardier is indeed a large watch @ ~48mm diameter, the original B-Uhrs were 55mm in diameter - TRULY MASSIVE! the design was intended for maximum legibility under the most demanding conditions, hence the large size.
